As technology leader in compressed air flow measurement equipment, we developed unique calibration systems. In our pressurized calibration systems (pressurized test loops), flow, pressure and temperature can be controlled very precisely and independent of each other. We have five in-house flow meter calibration systems, strictly maintained under our ISO 9001 certified Quality Assurance System.
- BoreasTM, (originally developed under tha name of DFCS-1000): Boreas is a real workhorse and has been in service since 2002. It can therefore be recognized as Europe's first commercial pressurized test loop for thermal mass flow meters. Boreas can be pressurized up to 16 bar and it can be filled with various test gases. Boreas is fitted with a state of the art reference meter.
- ZephyrusTM is our new 12 meter long pressurized test loop. Zephyrus can be pressurized up to 10 bar and generates over 250 mn/sec velocities. Zephyrus has various test sections with diameters up to DN200.
- TyphonTM is our high pressure test system. Typhon is able to generate flows under static pressures up to 45 bar. It has been developed to offer unsurpassed flow meter accuracy at 40 bar applications, for instance at PET bottle manufacturing plants.
- NotusTM is our portable, pressurized test system, which is used for calibration of small in- line flow meters and natural gas meters. Notus can be pressurized up to 16 bar.
- AeolusTM is a first principle, computer controlled piston-cylind
er which can generate peak flows up to 1000 l/minute. It was originally designed to calibrate medical peak flow sensors, under the project name Pulmonary Air Wave Generator (PAWG). Aeolus is maintained and operated by our partner company, AnMar Research Labs.
Boreas, Zephyrus, Typhon, Notus and Aeolus are trademarks of VPInstruments. They are also AnemoiTM, famous greek wind gods. You can read more about their exciting adventures at wikipedia.
