From 4-8 April VPInstruments presented herself on the largest compressed air fair in the world: Comvac 2011, Hannover Messe. As always this was a very exciting time for us to get in contact with our (potential) customers. This year the success was even beyond our expectations! The first day we could hardly handle all requests, so we decided to have a fourth member coming over to help us out, which turned out to be a good decision.

UeSystems is having its 6th Ultrasound World conference in May this year. Ultrasound World is the leading international conference for predictive maintenance technology.

Ultrasound World offers essential tactics and techniques to maximize the return on investment through ultrasound devices. It is a week full of presentations, workshops, classes and networking.

Our Sales en Marketing director, Cynthia Kuiper, is presenting at the conference. She will give a presentation about the essential combination of mass flow meters and leak detectors for compressed air savings.

Approximately 25% in the compressed air is wasted by leakage. Repairing leaks is the easiest and most beneficial way to realize dramatic compressed air savings. To detect the overall leakage in a factory and to quantify the amount of savings, mass flow meters provide a great tool. Combined with Ultrasonic leak detectors, they form the perfect team for a continuous leakage management program around the factory.

The flow measurement equipment of VPInstruments was used by Air Energy Management in a big air audit for the factory Astrum that produces military vehicle castings. With help of the flow meters, Air Energy Management was able to locate savings measures and a huge savings potential.

Astrum used the Carbon Trust to fund the savings measures. The Carbon Trust is an interest free loan by the English government for small and medium companies in the UK to improve the energy efficiency. Astrum is receiving the biggest loan to date of £400.000! The loan paid e.g. for low pressure drop piping, variable speed compressors and a leak-detection management equipment. They purchased VPVision and several VPFlowScope flow meters for their compressed air monitoring and leakage management. The entire project will be cost neutral in only four years; an easy decision for Astrum!
